Seeing a SMARTboard being used

I observed another math class today at my school. In this classroom there is an ACTIVEboard I think is what the brand was. It was actually mounted onto the wall in the midst of other whiteboards.
I really enjoyed seeing it used because it was used in some complex manner. It was really simple and something that actually makes sense in a classroom. She made a power point as the students' notes and had example problems on the power point. She left plenty of space under the problem so that she could work it out. There was only one pen but she was able to change the colors by selecting colors on the screen. She used the different colors for different steps. Once the space filled up, she shrunk up the problem and moved it out of the way so she could continue working.
So pretty much, it was the same as a regular whiteboard except she was able to move the work to the side and not erase it.
I was really glad that I was able to see the interactive whitebaord actually being used in a math classroom and how I could possible use it in the future.

Glad that you were able to see an interactive white board in action. And it sounds like the ACTIVEboard software has some features that the SB doesn't have. Did you sense that using the board made understanding and learning the math concepts easier for the students? Did the teacher have the students use the board as well?
